Difficult tasks –
After much deliberation by the OAS Hanging Committee, the exhibition is beautifully displayed and everything is in its final position. Judge Roy now has the huge unenviable task deciding on those to receive awards. The high standard made decisions difficult and demanded that all deserve and should receive a participating certificate. Final judging decisions made, certificates printed, prizes wrapped, food sorted, balloons and decorations arranged. Everything is ready.
Opening Night: Friday 8th July 5:30pm at the OAS Gallery, Dunedin Railway Station –Wow – some arrive early to gain a sneak preview but rules are strict and only officials allowed in – that included Russell and I!! Kids, parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents – the whole whanau it seemed thronged enthusiastically through the door. Camera flashes dotted the gallery as people moved slowly through the three rooms. Standing room only.
Time arrived for President Andrena Hall to call order and the award ceremony began.
